Maruti Suzuki Baleno’s Waiting Period Reduced to 1-3 Weeks in India

Maruti Suzuki introduced the Baleno, a premium hatchback, to the Indian market in February of the previous year. The carmaker witnessed an overwhelming response as they received more than 25,000 reservations soon after the vehicle’s launch. In India, the Baleno is available in four different variants: Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. If you’re considering buying this popular hatchback, here’s some great news – the waiting period for the Baleno has significantly decreased in India and now ranges from one to three weeks, starting from the date of booking. However, it’s important to note that the waiting period may vary based on the dealership, color, and variant selected, among other factors. For those interested in purchasing the Baleno, Maruti Suzuki is also offering attractive discounts of up to Rs 45,000 on the model for this month. These benefits include cash discounts, exchange bonuses, and scrap bonuses, and they will be available until July 31. For more details on the offers, potential buyers can contact their nearest dealership.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Engine and Gearbox

Maruti Suzuki has made adjustments to the Baleno to comply with Bharat Stage 6 Phase II requirements, making it compatible with E20 fuel. The Baleno is equipped with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine that produces 88.5bhp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque. Buyers have the option of choosing between a 5-speed manual transmission or Maruti Suzuki’s AGS automatic manual transmission. Both variants offer reasonable fuel economy, with the manual version returning 22.3km/l and the AGS-equipped version providing 22.9km/l.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Feature Set

Since its launch in 2022, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been equipped with a comprehensive set of standard security features. Additionally, the hatchback offers a range of safety options, including a 360-degree camera, electronic stability program (ESP) with hill hold, driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, reverse parking sensors, rearview camera, seat belt reminder, brake assist, high-speed alert system, seat belt pre-tensioner/force limiter, and ISOFIX anchorages.

Enhancements in the 2023 Baleno include the addition of a three-point seatbelt for the centre rear passenger’s safety, which distributes the impact of a crash across the entire body for enhanced protection. Furthermore, the centre rear seat now features a three-point safety belt and an adjustable headrest.

Nexa Celebrates 8 Years of Operations in India

Recently, Maruti Suzuki India celebrated a significant milestone as its premium retail channel, Nexa, completed eight years of operation in India and achieved the remarkable feat of selling 20 lakh cars during this period. Launched in 2015, Nexa has rapidly expanded to encompass over 460 showrooms across more than 280 locations. Initially introduced with the Baleno and the now-discontinued S-Cross, Nexa’s portfolio now includes eight models: the Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz, XL6, Fronx, Jimny, Grand Vitara, and the newly-launched Invicto. In the first quarter of the current fiscal year (FY24), Nexa’s share of Maruti Suzuki’s total volume sales exceeded 31 per cent, a significant increase from its initial share of 5 per cent in 2015.

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki India, expressed his thoughts on this achievement, stating, “Conceptualized first in 2015, Nexa’s core philosophy aims at providing unique experiences, along with innovative and intelligent technology through a diverse product portfolio. Nexa’s successful 8 years with over 2 million happy customers is a testimony of the trust that our customers have shown us over the years.”
